Campaign Nº3: Looking for culture? (03.2022)
Voluntarily self-censored, the new BemyGirl campaign presents three major works by famous contemporary artists. Reduced to less than 30 pixels high, these images, much more provocative than Elise's campaign on the farm, become abstract works.
These artists have been exhibited without any censorship in the greatest museums in the world, from MoMa, to the Tate Gallery, to Versailles, to the Centre d'art contemporain de Tokyo and the Centre Pompidou.
By scanning the QR code, the viewer can discover which work is hidden behind this censorship as well as a short biography of each artist. This approach is reminiscent of the use of the QR code in museums and allows us to question the relationship we have with images, art and pornography today.
The campaign has been completely censored by the city of Geneva despite the fact that it is contemporary art and that these images are already censored.
